I've been pretty happy with KVM on Debian Lenny (not commercial, I 
know).  Being run in user-space, it fill a different niche than Xen. 
More like VMWare Workstation.  Say you need to run Windows, but only 
every once and a while.  Or, you want to try out the latest Ubuntu? 
Just boot straight from the ISO without rebooting your desktop.
