[NTLUG:Discuss] Converting Visio and "Arts & Letters" files

I have created several drawings with both of these programs on Windoze
and have kept that OS around mainly for these and one other program.
I'm now making another effort to fully convert to Linux.  I want these
files to be able to transfer as vector graphics rather than bitmaps.

Both programs will export to EPS although I've seen comments that Visio
(particularly the older versions) does a terrible job of conversion.

What are my options and solutions?
