Thanks for the response, Scott. I got called away after I started this
yesterday. I wasn't ignoring your response.
I disabled all encryption and fire walling on the router. Using network
manager, nm. If I insert the WUSB plug nm shows both a wired and a
wireless connection. Activating the wireless connection kills the wired
connection. The connection information then shows the interface as
wlan0, the driver at rt73usb, all 0's for the rest of the information
except the MAC address which is reported correctly.
I tried everything I can think of. I found a blog post describing the
problem and giving a short howto to solve. It didn't work for me.
