[NTLUG:Discuss] Apache question

Thanks to all who posted helpful replies to my call for help.
I have a webserver running on an old (antique) Compaq with
Suse 8.2 and whichever Apache shipped with it (I'm too
lazy to go into the other room and look, probably 2.0). I toyed 
with the idea of adding an e-commerce site to that machine but
wasn't able to figure out how until your answers came in. By 
that time I had decided to try it on a Virtualbox machine
running opensuse 10.3 and Apache 2.2, which is running on
my personal desktop (P4, 2.4GHz, 1GB ram, os10.2).  I figure
what the hell, if someone hacks the website, the worst they can 
screw up is the virtual machine which can be rebuilt pretty fast.
I have a good copy of the .vdi file which speeds up that process. 

Another consideration was that the website on the Compaq belongs
to an alumni org and it may end up at the home of the gal that runs 
that group. Might as well keep those two systems separate from the
start. Since the Compaq was on its way to the dumpster when it was
pressed into service as a webserver, it won't cost me anything to
leave it with her.

I have stuck together a very brief home page just to have something 
online and as I get time I will flesh it out.
