Chuck,
What is the resolution of that monitor and what kind of video card do
you have? The installer seems to be a little pickier about monitors
that the real Ubuntu that gets installed. The good news, for either
Ubuntu or Fedora is that x.org has improved in the last year. For most
cards, they can now detect and scale to a new monitor at runtime. A
year ago, you had to specify the resolution at setup time or go through
a configuration procedure when you setup a monitor. Now, it is usually
automatic. But, that is a big monitor. It may be outside the scope of
what has been tested.
One solution might be to trade me for a known working 19 inch LCD
monitor. It should work fine for you and I can suffer through setting
up the 42 inch one ;-)
Good day,
Ralph
