[NTLUG:Discuss] Oh dear yet another visa linux question

(sorry to be such a bother)
Gateway MX8734 running Visa Home Premium
History:
    I bought it
    tried dual boot with Mandriva - installed without error - failed to boot
    wiped the disk with a single boot install of Mandriva - worked for a 
long time
    toyed with installing fedora 9 - ran some memory test that came with 
the ISO - buggered the box but good (turned off and refused to turn back on)
    sent the box to Gateway for warranty repair - worked OK for a while 
then started hanging - sent it back for more repair
    box came back today a new Vista install - that's where it is now.
Now what I have been reading suggest that Visa may never dual boot with 
Linux - any suggestions - or should I just wipe visa again and reinstall 
Mandriva?
