[NTLUG:Discuss] Any way to "packet capture" a serial port?

I found portmon (for Windows) and now know that the password is sent directly after the email address. Have to find out what the one character separating the two is and I'll "be home".

I know YMMV but when I had my broadband setup with Optus (Australia) a
few years back I said to the technician, who installed the HW/Software,
here is my Windows box. When he left I rebooted into Linux, after
recording the windows settings, and configured my Linux to the same and
away it went.

Do you have any funny chars, spaces in user ID or password that may work
in Windows but not on Linux?
