Well your last guess was correct. Allow me to give you an illustration. You gifted users or maybe experienced user is a better term know immediately based on your Linux type what command to use even when prompted by a forum thread that turns out incorrect. I want to disable kdewallet manager so Kopete accesses without a password. So it says enter kdewalletmanager (no soap) second option alt+f2 (no soap as well) My point is the experienced user based on their distro i.e. ubuntu etc knows what to do. Can one learn one programming language and be comfortable in its use.
Allen with appreciation

Thanks for your input. Please be a little more specific about "language". Do you mean "Linux terminology" (my first guess), architecture (the "big picture") or a programming language (my "last" guess).

Hello Lee:
being a Newbie as well with a vast list of linux shortcomings, i.e.
challenges I can appreciate your wish list however merely from a retention
perspective it seems pretty vast. Personally I have only been to one
meeting. Arrived at 9AM and from that time on it was one long eventful
presentation with the members helping me install and answer my collection of
basic questions. I live 85 miles away but I am fortunate to consider NTLUG
my umbilical cord to Linux.
Anyway my suggestion for presentation or my wish list would be on language.
I know that just using memory is an option and not adverse to study, but a
foundation or organizational plan would be nice.
Just my 2 cents. Have a great weekend
