[NTLUG:Discuss] SuSE 10.3 update problem

I keep getting a request to update libqt4 with a description of
"qt3/libqt4:Fixes crashes in Qt apps during xrandr operations".  I have
told it to update many times but it never does.  I'm tempted to switch
to run level 3 and see if something about the GUI is causing the update
to fail.  However, I don't know what program to use to check for and
apply updates.  Looked for yum - not installed, did "man yast2" -
nothing about updating, out of desperation I even looked for apt - not
there.  What do I need to use?
