I trust it is challenges like this which with the user groups help molds one into a sustained user. It was a learning cure and I trust there will be others, but I will press on.
Thanks to all

Do not have a clue about this superuser privilege. What must I do?
Please advise and thanks

Allen,
You must be superuser to use this (and many other) commands.
One way to do this is to use 'sudo', as already mentioned in
this thread. This may require setting up sudo, per the manual
page. Another is to use the 'su' command. In any case, the
superuser (root) password will be required. The root password
should have been set during installation. For *ubuntu (all the
many variations of Ubuntu), the user password is the root or
superuser password. It must be entered again when requested
(and again later if
requested again). Don't despair, just do
what it takes to get the desired result.
