What is it about some terminal sessions that cause long lines to go 
haywire {a technical term} instead of wrapping with a CR/LF ?

I have this one particularly long mke2fs command that is now spread 
across FOUR lines on the bottom of the screen.   Backspacing and trying 
to correct or trying to verify the line is nigh near impossible.
