[NTLUG:Discuss] Hard drive, specifically IPSG

I actually talked to a tech one day outside who I am sure did not last long
and he told me they had been sent to a company to be refurbished. On the
other hand I have two of them and they have been running quite well.

Howdy,
I agree that they may be refurbs. If you track down ipsg, you'll find
it is the company that produces the PowerSpec(MicroCenter's store brand)
computers. They could also be extra stock that company bought to put
into computers. Like if the 160 gig drives are too small now, they just
resell them. But, the most likely thing is they were pulled out of
warranty repaired and returned systems and they could not sell them as
new. It is most likely that they were wiped and minimally tested, but
not refurbed.
Good luck,
Ralph
