Greetings.
Ok, partially my fault for attempting to run alpha software on my
computer. There was a site I wanted to see that had videos, but was
using (afaik) Flash 10.?.
Original working config:
SuSE 10.3 (AMD 64 - x86_64)
Flash 9.? (xi386)
Upgraded Flash to:
10.alpha (x86_64)
(and uninstalled old version)
Some old sites still worked, but new site would segfault the browsers,
and so would CNN.com.
So, removed alpha (including deleting all files, AND REBOOTED SYSTEM!)
Reinstalled:
Flash (using Yast)
Now, all I get from ANY site using Flash is;
LoadPlugin: failed to initialize shared library
/usr/lib/browser-plugins/libflashplayer.so
[/usr/lib/browser-plugins/libflashplayer.so: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32]
Unininstalled, reinstalled, rebooted, tried original version (using
Yast, and otherwise). I get the same error every time.
Bottom line: I can not restore to a good state!
Right now, my only remaining path (that I know of) to get Flash working
is to Format the Hard drive, and reinstall the OS from scratch. (As this
is a work machine, reconfiguring all required software is a multi-week
task -- and I've got two support calls I am working on right now!)
Suggestions?
Regards,
Steve
