Time is your best bet. A couple year old box has a much better success rate
- people have had time to find & fix.
Or, look at one of the specialist Linux houses - there are a couple that
advertise in Linux Journal (which has a generic hardware compatibility page
- http://www.linuxjournal.com/supportedhardware). As has been pointed out,
Dell has a couple of machines too.

Not all hardware manufacturers are the same. Looking for an
opinion/recommendation of a good laptop for under $1k which has all Linux
drivers available?
Does that manufacturer have a process of refunding the MS tax?
