Thats not very helpful.
If people are having a similar problem on other distributions including
Ubuntu and Fedora, then it is more likely to be a general type of
problem than a distribution specific problem? How about trying to help
with the question rather than blindly making a recommendation to move to
another distribution?


I would start with dbus troubleshooting instructions, trying to find
them. Starting daemon in verbose / non background mode for instance. Try
to find documentation for the /var/run/dbus/system_bus_socket file
(Looks like a unix domain socket). What is it, how is it activated? Does
it exist on your system, but perhaps has tight permissions which are not
allowing the user that console-kit-daemon is running as to access it?
Does your hostname entry in /etc/hosts have the correct IP address and
vice versa?
