Hi Dave.

Caution is correct. In my case, fileserver/printserver HD had failed --
Hardware fault. Was running SuSE 10.0 on that machine, so I figured I
would upgrade. I am looking at upgrading my laptop as well, but I use
that for Consulting, so wanted to have a chance to look, try, and play
before leaping with anything I use to generate revenue. Hence my
attempt to play with the latest version of OpenSuse -- and my research
efforts after that rather spectacular HP Printer failure, and the not so
spectacular but just as thorough Canon Printer failure. Half the stuff
listed in that thread
(http://groups.google.com/group/alt.os.linux.suse/browse_thread/thread/8609a3cc9731b01d)
as not working are items I routinely need on my laptop. And I figured I
am not the only person trying to use do some of this stuff, so thought I
would share what I found.

Was working on other stuff today, but will be trying 11.0 tonight &
tomorrow. Will post my results.

Regards,
Steve
