[NTLUG:Discuss] Linux Friendly DSL Providers for Richardson?

Howdy,
You ask for DSL, but what are you really trying to get for them? I
have been told that there is a Richardson municipal wireless network
that citizens can use. I don't know if it it free or not. I understand
it is in most of the city, since they built it mostly for City needs,
but decided to open it up. They use access points on light poles or
some such. A member of DFWUUG who lives in Richardson was talking about
it recently. If they are like most spinster types, a wireless
connection may well be fast enough. Just be sure and get a well
supported wireless device. I might think about one of the Airlink
AR430W wireless router reloaded with DDWRT as a good option. They were
on sale about a week ago and will probably be back soon.
Good luck,
Ralph
