Linux is a completely different OS just as Mac OS is completely different.

There are control panels for KDE and for GNOME, however.  There is no
"device manager" as you have come to know it in Windows.  There are ways
to list hardware devices but no manager with the ability to
enable/disable devices or update the drivers.

You may as well get used to the way(s) things are done under your
favorite distro.

I run suse and we have a tool that resembles hardware manager in KDE and it
works.
