[NTLUG:Discuss] Unable to transfer music files to iPod in Amarok

Hello-

I installed Amarok in Ubuntu 8.10 running Gnome.  I wanted to move CD tracks
to my iPod Nano.  After attaching the iPod to my PC, the iPod auto-mounts,
Amarok pulls all the content from the iPod, and plays tracks.  This should
mean that the iPod is configured in Amarok.  However, the transfer to Media
Device option is disabled.  I have no problem transferring songs with
Rhythmbox at all, but I would like Amarok to work.
Things I have already done:

Installed gtkpod
Installed kio-slave
Installed libxine1-ffmpeg (not sure if needed for audio)
Installed Amarok and iPod-related apps from Synaptic


Any ideas?
