Richard.. dont know what happened.. Yahoo mail
shows that the original was sent but ntlug says that
both messages from me were the second, my reply.
Don't know what's up with that.

My original question was:
"Here's a good one...my kid's new HP laptop is running 
opensuse 11.1 and kde 4.2.2. Somehow they managed
to kill the status bar, activity bar, whatever it is along the
bottom of the desktop. Since kde 4.2.2 is now so much like
windows, there has to be a button in the bottom-left to 
click to access applications. I cannot bring up the kde menu.

Any idea of how to get it back? Google didn't help."

As you can see, I think I figured it out. The next issue is far 
worse and that is in another thread.
