Another option, one I like to have around, is wired to wireless bridge.
I own both a Linksys one and a D-Link, the D-Link one is better because it
will do WPA. These devices allow any wired ethernet device to become
wireless... however because these devices to plug into the wall, they are
not considered to be all that portable.
Another nice thing is there is only one interface to configure... so, you
could move the machine from a wired location to the bridge without having
to change or setup anything.
