Howdy Gang,
Did anyone happen to attend the freebie training Chris Cox referenced
below back in August?
If so, I'd be very curious to learn more about what they discussed.
At present, I'm getting ready to purchase an enterprise level SAN
solution for a large client utilizing ISCSI shares, and would appreciate
knowing which way the proverbial SAN "wind" is blowing for the future.
Also, not surprisingly, I'm looking closely at a linux and possibly open
source solution for this SAN, with the leading contender being
Openfiler. I've been v-e-r-y pleased with openfiler to date, and am
evaluating using (2) Linux Openfiler boxes connected with DRBD and
Heartbeat for failover redundancy configured something like this
(http://www.howtoforge.com/installing-and-configuring-openfiler-with-drbd-and-heartbeat).
Any suggestions worth noting or technologies to stay away from? Any
other linux-based options (open source or commercial) with a strong
track record for performance and reliability?
Just renewed my NTPCUG membership online, and will be at the NTLUG
meeting this Saturday if this topic is better discussed in person.
Thanks in advance,
-Fred-
