Yup, agreed. The 10V designates their "V"alue version, which is
positioned as their less costly model replacing the discontinued entry
level Mini9.
The three things I would have had to give up for the 10V were memory
(1Gb max available to order for 10V), display resolution (1024x576 max
on 10V), and no HDMI video output (standard VGA connector on 10V). I
haven't yet checked my netbook motherboard, but read somewhere that all
these Dell netbooks have their memory soldered to the board, precluding
easy memory upgrades. Recall what Chris said last month regarding Intel
forcing down netbook capabilities in order to protect their higher
margin notebook processsor sales.
Still, with better 20-20 hindsight now, your advice might trump all my
previous thinking above, saving me some short/mid-term graphics driver
grief.
