[NTLUG:Discuss] scp and text mode transfers

At work I have to use that other operating system and when I need to do
a file transfer to a host requiring secure connections I use a program
called WinSCP.  It has a feature allowing line end translations for text
files [ {CR}{LF} <-> {LF} ].  However, when I read the man page for scp
and ssh-config I don't see anything about text file line termination
translations.  Is this a WinSCP "extension" of functionality or did I
miss something in the OpenSSH documentation?
