I'm trying to use a slightly modified version of the rrd_traffic.pl script found here: http://martybugs.net/linux/rrdtool/traffic.cgi to monitor the traffic on a CentOS 5.4 box. It's working great except that the traffic is showing up to be way less than what the Cisco firwall & switches are reporting.

However according to the rrd_traffic graphs I was only averaging around 380kBps. I'm still reviewing the RRDtool site (http://oss.oetiker.ch/rrdtool/tut/rrd-beginners.en.html) to learn how all of the functions work but thought that I would see if anybody on here had experienced a similar issue.

I've got my doc from Usenix... taught by the man himself, Tobias Oetiker

Not sure if it would have what you're looking for or not though.
There are supposedly lots of good examples out there on the rrdtool
site... and I think Tobias suggested that was one of the best
ways to figure things out.
