Howdy All -

I need an inside Solutions Architect in Dallas.  My team are all 
technical heavy-hitters who are trained on Red Hat products inside and 
out.  Not one of my team members has less than three endorsements 
towards RHCA certification, and there are several full-fledged RHCAs on 
the team.  All of them started with zero or minimal certification and 
were trained up.

It's a very cool position for F/OSS evangelism.  My guys all spend their 
time teaching customers and potential customers how to carve out costs 
and increase productivity by adopting F/OSS software.

The Role:

Solution Architects are highly respected members of the Red Hat team, 
with a deep understanding of Red Hat Enterprise Linux and how to apply 
that knowledge to solve real-world problems. The Inside Solution 
Architect works with the inside sales team to provide deep technical 
insight for the RHEL product suite. You will be assisting customers on a 
daily basis on the phone/web meeting and occasionally in person. Inside 
RHEL Solutions Architects can listen to customers' technical challenges 
and can suggest various solution paths, understanding that "one size 
does not fit all."

The Product Management, Consulting/Training, Support, and Core teams 
will collaborate with you as needed based upon your interactions with 
customers. This job requires constant learning about new technologies 
and how they can be applied to enterprises.

We are looking for candidates that have an interest in sales and have a 
natural talent for talking and presenting to different groups of people. 
Position provides competitive base salary plus commission. Ideal 
candidate will have strong communication and phone etiquette.

Primary Responsibilities:

   • Providing technical credibility to the inside sales organization
   • Answer technical questions given to sales team by prospective 
customers (possibly in the form of RFPs or RFIs)
   • Educate prospects on the capabilities of RHEL products
   • Identifying the appropriate technologies to solve client problems
   • Form relationships with clients technical staff to identify new 
opportunities
   • Provide feedback to Product Management on product direction and 
feature usefulness (customer applicability)

Required Skills & Experience:

   • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
   • 2+ years of experience with UNIX, Linux, and systems management
   • Knowledge of networking, complex software integration, and databases
   • College degree or equivalent
