I've had issues where a default distro package unrelated to the printers
(don't remember the name right now, sorry) was installing broken CUPS
Printer Drivers/Definitions on me, as the DEFAULTS. And these drivers
would override the ones supplied by the manufactures. Don't know if
that is the case here, but you could check to see if you already have a
driver installed for your printer.
