Subject: [NTLUG:Discuss] 64-bit Flash on Linux

Running Firefox3.5.6 on 64-bit Suse Linux 10.3

firefox/plugins> uname -a
Linux darkstar 2.6.22.17-0.1-default #1 SMP 2008/02/10 20:01:04 UTC
x86_64 GNU/Linux

1) I downloaded the 64-bit version of Linux Adobe Flash Player
installer  =version 10.0.42.34.

2) and copied the resulting "libflashplayer.so" into the
".../mozilla/plugins/" directory
     and into the ".../mozilla/firefox/plugins" directory.

3) Then restarted Firefox,
     --> still can't play youtube or hulu, which is kindof what I expected.

Is there any reason to expect the 64-bit Linux Flash player to work ?
or should I try Gnash or one of the script-based flash players ?

  -steve
