[NTLUG:Discuss] Ubuntu Google Chrome Browser

Anybody running Google Chrome on Ubuntu?
I'm looking for configuration - extensions recommendations.
Especially ones that make Chrome able to do things Firefox doesn't
whether it is faster than Firefox or not.
Sort of like KDE 4.x over 3.x. I can make KDE 4.x look and mostly
function like 3.x but what's the point until 3.x is no longer
supported?
According to the hype there are some feature/functions in KDE 4.x that
are supposed to make 4.x better? I can't find them.
Some times Chrome is very fast and some times it is slower than Firefox.
This makes me believe it has some tie to the "Mother Ship (Google)"
like gmail does.
