[NTLUG:Discuss] sound issue with audio editing and cd burning

Mandriva 2008
Gnome 2.20.0
Grip 3.3.1
Audacity 1.3.3-beta
K3b 1.0.3

After I use K3b to burn a CD (audio), then Audacity cannot output sound 
... error message: "Error while opening sound device. Please check the 
output device settings and the project sample rate."

Any hints (other than reboot, which does work by the way)?
