Howdy,
  Someone in the LIP room wanted to setup a network printer in Ubuntu.
He said he know his printer had an ethernet port and was listening on
port 9100.  I hope he is subscribed to the mailing list.

  Go to System / Adminitration / Printing
  Setup a New Printer
    Under Select Device, choose Network printer
    Choose AppSocket/HP JetDirect
    Put the IP address of your printer in the Host field & press Forward
    Select the appropriate printer driver

 If your printer is not in the list, look for a generic postscript, or
some printer you think may be compatible and then print a test page to
see if it works.
