[NTLUG:Discuss] slightly OT: desktop fonts

Sorry ... I am just not getting anywhere with this one, and I would 
appreciate any hints, links, etc.

This is an issue for a somewhat visually impaired person ... please help 
if you can

I know how to change the screen resolution
I know how to "zoom-in" in a browser or application
I know how to enlarge the icons and text on the task bar(s)
I don't know how to enlarge the fonts in the tool bar(s) of the 
applications, like ...
    OpenOffice
    Seamonkey
    Firefox
(like this sort of stuff ... if this image comes through?)
