It's one of the features of upstart that makes it so appealing.  Solaris
too handled (in some cases) legacy init... but as things moved over to
the "new" way there, everyone discovered how big of a pain it was to
change things (The "new" way essentially took away functionality)... I
don't think upstart suffers from the same design flaws though.
