Hi,
The web site for this company exists and looks OK. I called the
telephone number and got confirmation that the content is for real.
She did want to send this email to both DFWUUG and NTLUG. So here it
is.

Dear NTLUGgers,
I am with Infoco, Inc., an independent nationwide market research firm. We
are working on a research project about payment-processing software. This
is NOT sales of any kind.
I'm not sure who would be the best person to send this to, hence the
multiple recipients.
We are seeking developers to take part in a 60-minute phone interview
about payment-processing and invoicing APIs. The interview will take
place
between Tuesday, May 31 and Friday June 3. Each person who participates
will receive $150.
All responses will remain private, and no one will never get any kind of
sales call or go on any mailing lists as a result of participation. We do
not ask that respondents “represent” their organization, simply that they
speak from their individual professional opinions and experiences.
Nothing proprietary or confidential will be discussed or requested.
I was wondering how it might be possible to get the word out to your
organization's members. I do not want to impinge on any of your
regulations or policies. I do think some of your members would be
interested and would enjoy the interview, and we do pay each one $150.
I can assure you 100% that this is a legitimate research study, that
respondents will be paid for their time, and that no sales will ever be
involved in any way. I would be happy to provide additional information.
Please do feel free to check our website to get a better idea of what we do.
Specifically, we are looking for software professionals/companies that
develop CRM, Accounting/Financial, Business Productivity, Billing,
Accts Receivable / Payable, BPA, Workflow, Order Management System,
and similar products for their customers.
Your assistance in helping to notify your membership would be greatly
appreciated.
