[NTLUG:Discuss] Monitor list in system-config-display

Does anyone know what file holds the list of monitors in
system-config-display? Again, searching the web wasn't productive.
Tried grep (from root as root) for my old monitor's manufacturer name -
ran forever, I finally gave up and killed the process. Tried lsof
output but there were too many entries. Tried rpm -ql on the
system-config-display package and found
/usr/share/system-config-display/monitorDialog.py but I didn't find what
looked like a promising path name in it and don't know the language so I
didn't spot any clues, maybe someone can help here. The reason I'm
interested is I'm wondering what is behind those selections in case I
buy a brand/model of flat screen which isn't listed.
