[NTLUG:Discuss] Help request, again

Any mysql gurus out there? I thought that I might be able 

to muddle through a problem or two (or 20) but it seems that
mysql is something I can barely pronounce. Anyway, my 

schedule has kept me away from the server so I have not
been able to climb the learning curve.

I have a webserver with a mysql database which appears
to be all there but that is as far as it goes. Apache can't
see it, I can only log into mysql with skip grant tables so
I figure I have some configurations either hosed or missing
but at this point I don't even know where to look. Google
has been my friend but I would really like to solve the problems
a little quicker than my schedule has allowed.
