It it host raid which takes CPU cycles from the server's
main CPU(s).  Also, it only does RAID 1 and 0.  I do not 
think it does RAID 10. I would like a RAID card with a 
dedicated processor.

As far as the drives, it has slots for 3 drives per
node but I am going to run 3 RAID 0 servers with
two drives and one RAID 10 server with 4 drives,
stealing one slot from an adjacent node.  The cabling
will get a bit strange but it will work.
