Don't know much about the 3550, does it have a slot for a memory card?  If yes that is likely disk0 and you should be able to put files on it and copy them over.  I don't know what the file system is but you should be able to format the card you put in the slot.  The other likely option is tftp.

I guess that means I need to download a new flash
to the switch.  Is that hard to do?
