[NTLUG:Discuss] NFS ownership

Howdy,
I ran across something with a file server I setup this week that I
need a little help with. I setup a file server and all of the clients
are going to be Linux machines. So, I thought sharing the directory
as an NFS mount made sense. I made and mounted the share and started
rsync to copy data from the current local directory on the machine to
the NFS mount. I quickly hit a problem. The files on the local
directory are almost all owned by apache. The NFS server does not
have the apache user and so it told me the change of file onwership
was invalid. The fie server is running freenas 8.3, so it is BSD. Is
there some way to map users on the NFS mount? Or, is there some other
approach I should be taking?
I could put entries in paswd and shadow, I suppose, but that seems
hackish and I suspect there is a more proper way to do this.
Ralph
