[NTLUG:Discuss] GRUB2 and multiboot

I installed SuSE 12.2 on a co-worker's hard drive so he could test Linux
but I'm having reservations about it's working his environment. He
wants to boot Linux from Windows (probably 7). I've read the articles
about copying the Linux boot sector to Windows and editing boot.ini but
I'm wondering if GRUB2 has changed things enough that this approach no
longer works. Has anyone done (or tried) this? What were your results?

My second concern is that I installed Linux when his (SATA) hard drive
was the only one in the system. He will be making it his second or
third drive. I'm not sure what GRUB2 uses in Stage 1 to locate the
drive but I'm afraid the change will cause problems, does anyone know if
it will? If so will booting to Linux when the drive is in his system
(I'm hoping his BIOS will allow selecting the boot drive) and re-running
the GRUB2 install program solve the problem?

Thanks for any feedback.
