Hello:

I host virtual private servers for my customers.  The most contentious 
resource is the disk.  If you have a process that is I/O intensive, it will
starve the other VMs.  Of course, it depends on what you are trying
to do, but I would rank the limitation of resources as:

  Hard drive I/O
  RAM
  Processor speed
