My point is that it's "flat".. that is, you can watch the directory entries for 
a directory inode.  So.. for any new directory within a tree, you have to setup 
another callback.

Because inodes are name spaced for a filesystem (in general), I always wanted 
something that would tell me if an inode mod happened for the filesystem.. do 
you know if that's possible? (I know.. I'm drifting off the OP)
