  That is right.  For Leroy's purposes, I expect he would only need to
watch a couple of directories(~ and ~/.kde4), so inotify seems
practical to me.  But, obviously, he decides what is practical to him.

 I am not sure I understand what you want.  I went to test my inotfy
programs and they don't work. The library has had some updates and
parameters changed.  I'll get it working again and see if I can
experiment with what I think you want.
