Subject: [NTLUG:Discuss] More on Spring Cleaning...

So far... (come to the meeting to pick up please). Or let me know if you
want to come by the house and browse at stuff. I've got printers, I've got
serial console switches (Cyclades/Avocent TS-2000), etc. I've got fibre
channel boards.... shoot, I've got FC SAN storage devices...

Gil B. - PATA drives (I have to do some work on these, so these will NOT be
present at this Saturday's meeting)

Ralph G. - PATA drives (a mess load of identical 250G) and laptop drives
(various sizes), Sed & Awk book, Insignia Pilot (I love that device, yes it
does OGG, and video and has bluetooth... and it's TINY and support full size
SDHC card that fits totally inside when inserted... awesome travel device)
and 4x1024M PC3200 Reg ECC memory.

Richard P. - LSI U320 and the LSI U320-2X (both are killer RAID boards) and
DNS and BIND 4th Ed. (everyone should own a copy).

I'm also bringing a dual channel LSI SCSI PCI-X (not full HW RAID), an ATTO
PCI SCSI board and a Radeon HD 6950 (this won't work with your machine
unless you know how to power a high end video board... ok?)... oh... and an
8 port Linksys
10/100 switch.

I'll also bring.. maybe for a giveaway prize my 4 bay AIBY HW RAID subsystem
with 4 x 300GB drives... just attach to an external SCSI port and instant
RAID.
One of my most favorite devices. And it's small enough to go on a desk. As
mentioned earlier, this device put up an average performance of over
104MB/sec with sequential block reads over 275MB/sec and sequential block
writes over 203MB/sec. with single client IOPS of 1450 (that's better than a
lot of mid-tier RAID subsystems on the market even today).

See you at the meeting....

I have no idea what the presentation will be. But I do want to do a shout
out for Cory who is ready (pretty much) to do the ESX training class... we
just need to figure out a good month (we can discuss, I'm sure Cory will
want the input).

I just installed Syberia II under wine... time for some adventure gaming...

I did find my CD for Tux Racer (no.. not the crummy free one, this is the
very nicely done one that you had to buy.. I just need to find the patches
for it...) Maybe it will show up at a future meeting...
