Subject: [NTLUG:Discuss] Help: Disabling ipv6 in fedora 18
So im trying stop ipv6 from starting on my VM of fedora 18. Here is the
help I am using http://lifeofageekadmin.com/how-to-disable-ipv6-fedora-1718/
When I get to ip addr del part, Im having a slight issue.
My ether for p2p1 is xx:xx:xx:14:e8:58..The problem I am having is that
when I go do ip addr del fexx::axx:xxff::fe14:e858/64 dev p2p1
I get the the error message: command "ip in 64 bit" is unknown, try "ip
addr help". Im thinking my entering in for fe14 is incorrect but Im not
exactly sure.
Any guidance from anybody would be stellar and greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Bryan

You can turn off IPv6 on an interface by putting
NETWORKING_IPV6=no
into /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-p2p1
