[NTLUG:Discuss] Strange ftp problems

I've got an ftp server running vsftp. I have almost 200 users with 8-10 GB
of uploads and 20-25 GB of downloads daily. I have one folder that
periodically corrupts uploaded files. These are all audio files, primarily
mp3 files. When they get corrupted, they are still the same size and
length, and you can load them in an audio editor, but the segments are all
out of order. You can play the file, but it just sounds like
gobbledegook. We have had multiple users upload to this account with
different computers and different clients. We have moved the ftp site to
three different servers so far. It will happen with one or two files at a
time with other files from the same user going through just fine. It's
like someone took an audio tape, cut it into pieces, then spliced it back
together out of sequence. And it only happens with this one user account
on their specific folders. All other users uploads and downloads are
fine. It will be fine for a couple months, then start corrupting files
again for a week or so, then clear up.
Has anyone run into such a thing or have any ideas where or what to look
for? This is most perplexing.
Thanks for any ideas,
Michael
