Debian stable is rock-solid, and their release cycle is so slow that you
can use the same release for years without needing to / being able to
upgrade!  I moved to Debian stable from Debian unstable and/or testing a
few years ago, when I realized that I needed to spend more time using my
computer to work and less time working on my computer.
