I have been doing various embedded systems in Linux for a while now, and
have come across several embedded toolkits, but only used a few of them. In
one case, the process had enough resources that I just built the
application with a full-up Debian distro using the target system for
development. However, it's clear that some of the available embedded
toolkits allow building very small stripped-down systems. I'm interested in
finding out more about the following list of toolkits. In particular, I'm
interested in when a particular toolkit might *not* be optimal.
Buildroot (*)
Ltib (*)
OpenEmbedded
BitBake
Yocto
T2 SDE
PTXdist
uClinux-dist
Denx ELDK
others?
(*) I've used these, but only on one project each, and somebody else had
already done the setup.
If you have used any of these, or know of another good embedded Linux
toolkit, I would like to discuss them with you.
