[NTLUG:Discuss] Dolphin and symlinks

I thought I had a good idea: Put symlinks in my home directory to the
various places I normally go on my file system. Since I show hidden
files in Dolphin (I dispise not knowing the total picture) I created a
directory named ..Symlinks (note the two leading dots in the name) so it
would appear at the top of the list. Two clicks (one into ..Symlinks
and the next on the symlink itself) and I'm where I want to be.

Except... When I do so Dolphin puts me where I want to be but leaves
the address /home/leroy/..Symlinks/<Simlink name>. It doesn't use the
directory the symlink points to. So I can't move up the tree to the
symlink parent. Can't use hard links.

Any ideas how to change Dolphin's behavior or alternative solutions?
