Not saying that somebody won't reply here, but this is a Linux centered
list.

There are local Windows groups.... maybe it would be better to ask one of
them??

Oh... and maybe you should try a native Linux install.... etc.. etc...

1)  I did go to the Windows session at the NTPCUG meeting recently, and
those folks were USELESS.  They seemed to be more interested in talking
about topics like woodworking than actual technology.  They seemed pretty
nervous when I brought up my project, in fact...TOO HARD!

2) You overlooked (or disregarded) my statement below about wanting to keep
my Windows OS and learn at a moderate pace what packages I need to add to
MinGW (zlib, pthread, etc.) and what they do to obtain the required
functionality, as per

I guess I will come to the meeting this Saturday and see what comes of
it....I remember the guys were pretty sharp when I showed up at the KOL
Church some time back.
